In the food industry, there is an overwhelming urge to be self-sufficient. The culture of chef life expects you to be strong, decisive, and in control at all times. Showing weakness feels risky. Vulnerability feels impossible.
But as Chef Beth Raynock courageously shared, even the strongest among us sometimes need a lifeline.
“One day, I was really struggling. I was wrestling with a decision and it was eating me alive. I wasn’t sleeping. I was having severe panic attacks.”
In that moment, Beth reached out — and Yes, Chef! Behind the Apron™️ was there to answer.
When Beth called, she was immediately met with compassion and connection. Through Yes, Chef!, she was introduced to resources at Twin Ponds and connected with a professional therapist. That single step changed her entire rhythm of life.
Now, she’s sleeping better. She’s navigating stress with more clarity. She’s making healthier decisions.
“I now see a therapist every other week. I started a new mental health regiment. I am sleeping better. I was able to eliminate that unnecessary stress from my life. I’m making better decisions.”
Beth also took a leap by joining the very first Yes, Chef! Retreat.
“It was a beautiful day, but more importantly, it was a place where we could all feel safe to talk about our vulnerabilities. I am so grateful that I had the privilege to attend. I made new friends. And I feel less alone.”
That day wasn’t just about rest — it was about community, connection, and the radical idea that those who nourish us deserve nourishment too.
Beth’s story is one of many. Behind every apron is a human being who needs balance, healing, and support. Yes, Chef! Behind the Apron™️ is here to humanize, heal, and transform the culture of the food industry — one story, one retreat, and one chef at a time.
“Sometimes, all it takes is for one person to respond to your needs. And I feel validated now. It is a wonderful feeling. Thank you, YES chef!”
