Yes, Chef! Behind the Apron™️ is a hospitality-focused nonprofit building a trusted support network for the people behind the plate.

Through storytelling, direct outreach, mental-health partnerships, community programming, and food-security initiatives, we connect hospitality professionals with the resources, support, and care they need—before they reach a breaking point.

Our mission is to reduce stigma, expand access to mental-health support, strengthen community connection, and create measurable impact for the people who spend their careers taking care of everyone else.

A future where chefs and hospitality professionals are not only celebrated for their craft, but supported as people—where asking for help is normalized, mental-health resources are easy to access, community is built before crisis, and every hospitality professional knows where to turn when they need support.

Yes, Chef! Behind the Apron™️ has already turned storytelling into action.

To date, we have:

• Supported more than 100,000 meals through food-security initiatives
• Connected 24+ hospitality professionals with therapy and mental-health support
• Shared the stories of 60+ hospitality professionals through portrait-driven storytelling
• Completed 3 Aprons Off! retreats focused on connection, wellness, and community
• Placed 50+ mental-health and resource posters directly into hospitality workplaces, with a goal of reaching 1,000+ locations through 1,000 Doors
• Created trusted pathways that allow restaurants and workers to reach out when someone needs help

Now, we are building the next phase of the movement.

Through 1,000 Doors, recurring Aprons Off! gatherings, expanded mental-health partnerships, direct restaurant outreach, and stronger outcome tracking, our goal is to create a measurable hospitality-support network that reaches workers where they are.

We are not simply raising awareness.

We are building the front door to support for hospitality professionals.
