About Second Harvest Food Bank

For over 40 years, Second Harvest Food Bank has been dedicated to feeding those in need while working to eliminate food waste.

Their Mission:

"To obtain food and distribute it to people in need through area nonprofits, and to provide resources for education and advocacy to end hunger."

Their Work:

Founded in 1982 by the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, Second Harvest Food Bank started with just 15 agencies in Lehigh and Northampton counties. Today, they serve over 200 partner agencies across six counties: Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, Pike, and Wayne.

By reclaiming unsaleable but edible food from local businesses, Second Harvest works to reduce food waste while nourishing families throughout the region.

A Gift of Impact

In 2024, through the Yes, Chef! Behind the Apron™️ project, we proudly presented a donation of $22,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank — enough to provide nearly 70,000 meals for families in need right here in our community.

This incredible achievement was only possible because of:
